Chunky and slouchy Lumio newsboy hat

I absolutely love this type of hat and as I got one skein of bulky Lumio fine in pretty purple during a yarn sale saving €7.00 (!), I finally had the chance to crochet my own chunky newsboy hat. It’s an interesting yarn made of acrylic and a reflective thread spun into it. As you may guess by the name »Lumio fine« is a thiner version of the original Schachenmayr Lumio (Amazon link).

The yarn isn’t glowing in the dark but it reflects the light in dark winter mornings as well as in the dark afternoons. In normal light you barely can see the reflective thread.

Another kitty coin purse mobile sleeve

There’s a meow cat in town! It’s about time for a new mobile sleeve. As my Fellfisch mobile bag looked a bit like a sickening zombie lately I decided to make myself a new mobile bag. Well, to be honest my colleagues and hubby forced me a bit to do so.

  • Unknown multicolored yarn by Wolle Rödel

Comfy and cute raccoon scarf

Finally, after frogging this project due to a bad yarn choice I made I was able to finish this scarf with delay. Hubby loves raccoons! And so do I. I could watch this youtube video over and over again showing a raccoon trying to wash everything he shouldn’t: shoes, mobile phone etc. These little fellows are adorable! ♡

The scarf turned out to be very cuddly and comfy using up a bit more than 5 skeins of Woll Butt Lisa in grey. Finally I can put a check mark behind the raccoon scarf as it has been one of the projects hubby asked me for. (^v^)

Material used:

  • Woll Butt Lisa in Grau (Grey), Schwarz (Black) and Beige
  • 1 pair of colored safety eyes

Hello Kitty camera buddy

I’ve needed a quick birthday gift for a photography loving mate. Yeah, you guess right: It’s that joke-kind of gift. Anyway, I guess this camera buddy cat is a very nice accessory if you are often taking portrait photos of children as it will surely get their attention.

I simply added a red bow to my kitty to transform it into a real »Hello Kitty«.

Material used:

  • Woll Butt Lisa in Weiß (White), Rot (Red) and Schwarz (Black)
  • 1 hair tie

Ami Amour: Kitty Mod Cat Amigurumi

It has been an exciting week having international colleagues visiting our office two weeks ago. One of them was from Thailand and really such a sweet and kind person. She gave me a sweet little bag for my mobile phone having little Alice in Wonderland characters on it. I wanted to give her something in return and as she loves cats I was happy to find a super-cute pattern for doing a tiny kitty.

Nintendo: Yoshi Amigurumi

Nintendo Europe held a knit-or-crochet-your-own-Yoshi competition after the release of Yoshi’s Woolly World (Amazon link). And I thought to put it on another level by crochet a Yoshi by my own design while writing a pattern for it, too. I also mentioned that there is also a pattern available for my Yoshi. Nintendo Europe didn’t care as at the end there were a lot of mostly ugly Yoshi’s on the winner list made from existing patterns that can be found on ravelry etc. Quite disappointing.

Anyway, it has been my most complex design so far and I’ve learned quite a lot from this project. And even that it didn’t found any attention in the competition I’m very proud of my little Yoshi Amigurumi and I’m so happy and amazed about every little Yoshi made by others using my pattern. ♡

Pattern source: Crochet Yoshi Amigurumi Pattern by myself (^v^)

Material used:

  • Gründl King Cotton (Amazon link) in Apfelgrün (Green), Weiß (White), Orange, Zitrone (Yellow), Signalrot (Red), Aubergine (Purple) and Hellgrau (Light Grey)
  • Fibre fill (Amazon link)
  • Small amount of felt (Amazon link) in red and white
  • Sewing thread in red and white
  • 1 pair of 9 mm safety eyes (Amazon link)

The knitted version seen on the photos is the official licensed Yarn Yoshi Amiibo (Amazon link) by Nintendo.

World of Warcraft: Murloc Amigurumi

Hubby asked me to do a little farewell gift for a fellow student. As this recipient is a big World of Warcraft (Amazon link) fan I was searching for some inspiring ideas as well as for some nice patterns. But well, such a popular game with so few patterns! To be honest, I haven’t even found one pattern which would have been nice to try. So I looked up some characters from the WoW universe and decided to crochet a tiny version of the Murloc.

Pattern source: none – made by myself without taking notes -_-#

Material used:

  • Gründl King Cotton (Amazon link) in Hellblau (Light Blue), Jeansblau (Blue), Weiß (White), Zitrone (Yellow), Aubergine (Purple) and Orange
  • 2 tiny red buttons
  • Sewing thread in black
  • Fibre fill (Amazon link)
