New pattern series in progress: Studio Ghibli themed hexagons
If you have probably followed my Instagram account or looked at my projects on ravelry you already know that I’m working on some Studio Ghibli themed crochet hexagons. Hexagons are a great base to make a blanket, table runner, pillow, wall hanging and more. I didn’t finish all of them yet but as I’ve got a handful of hexagons done already I thought it’s the right time to start publishing them here. And as they are still in the making, you have the chance to suggest your favorite Studio Ghibli characters. (^_^)
What I’ve made already is Totoro, No-face (Spirited away), Soot sprite (Spirited away, My neighbor Totoro), Jiji (Kiki’s delivery service) and Calcifer (Howls moving castle) – just his mouth has to be done. On my to do list for the next ones are San (Princess Mononoke), Forest spirit (Princess Mononoke) and Ponyo.
All of my hexagons do have this simple base pattern for crocheting hexagons in common: Crochet Fundamentals: How to Crochet a Hexagon by envatotuts+
Monster Hunter: Poogie in watermelon costume
And another birthday gift: Super cute Poogie from the Monster Hunter (Amazon link) franchise. As you were probably following the E3 news feeds you might have got excited about Capcom announcing an open world Monster Hunter for PlayStation 4 as well as for PC. Anyway, I’m way more exited for Monster Hunter Stories (Amazon link) getting released for Nintendo 3DS this summer but hubby is super-hyped about getting his hands on a big Monster Hunter again.

Another baby Groot Amigurumi
Late spring is the beginning of the birthday season. So there are usually a lot of gifts to crochet. For this reason I’ve made another baby Groot Amigurumi by combining two patterns. By the way, my little Groot is posing in front of my lovely and strong growing Wasabi plant. Haven’t tried to make something out of it’s beautiful leafs yet. I’m open for suggestions if someone has got some experience cooking with. ^_^

Almost forgotten: Haru-chan and baby Chioux
When I started my blog project »resizing my photos and dumbing all of those stupid vignette effects« I realized that I’ve never put my cute hooded bunny Amigurumi on my blog. Poor little Haru-chan! The free pattern is by the amazing Mei Li Lee who did also wrote the gorgeous pattern book Hello Kitty Crochet: Supercute Amigurumi Patterns for Sanrio Friends (Amazon link).

Cute crochet wedding wreath: Peas in a pod get married
I’ve been working on a cute wedding wreath lately and I couldn’t show much of it before the wedding party as I wanted it to be a surprise for the newlyweds. So as the wedding party is over now and as I’ve got enough sleep to get over the too much wine and too much food I had next to the culture shock due to some very Bavarian music and strange wedding traditions (^_^)# I can finally show you my woolly gift.

New pattern online: Cute bunny purse
And there is another new pattern online: A cute bunny purse! Yes, still it isn’t the Totoro themed shawlette, oh my. But it is a candy pink bunny so who could say no to this? Happy Easter by the way! (^_^)
I will have to do a little new project now and I still have to finish my almost-done crochet pullover and my Great A’Tuin before I can finally start working on my Totoro shawlette project. I already got the right yarn for it waiting at home.
New pattern online: Zoidberg egg cozy
Tadaaa! The last of my geeky crochet egg cozy trio is online now: Futurama’s Zoidberg. I must confess that he is my secret favorite of all three – but please don’t tell Cthulhu and little Ood! xD
Hopefully I will see some cute Easter basket photos with all of them in the future! ♡
