Crochet Cthulhu egg cozy
I’ve been working on a Cthulhu crochet egg cozy and I think it worked out fine. Next time I have to be more careful not to pick up more stitches while doing the tentacles than I planned to. But you don’t really recognize it at the end as the shape is doing a good job to compensate it.
Pattern source: none – made by myself without taking notes -_-#
Material used:
- Woll Butt Silvia in green and light brown (discontinued already)
- 2 small buttons in black
- Sewing thread in black
- Yarn and sewing needles
Tiny cactus Amigurumi
This little cactus was a spontaneous birthday gift for a dear colleague and friend. I’ve been using scrap yarn from my stash. I don’t even remember the yarn brands but these kind of patterns are perfectly made for using up small amounts of yarn leftovers that is sleeping in your stash.
Pattern source: Cactus by Ana Paula Rimoli
Material used:
- Scrap yarn from my stash
- 1 pair of 8 mm safety eyes (Amazon link)
- Yarn needle
- Fibre fill (Amazon link)
- Plastic pellets (Amazon link)
I’ve had some problems doing the pot as it turned out to be way smaller than the bottom of the cactus (?!). It was hell trying to sew it from inside! Therefor I made one of my own before it would have ended in a nervous breakdown:
I started with half double crochet (hdc) in front loops (flp) for round 1 followed by a round of hdc worked in both loops. After that I did a round of single crochet (sc) in back loops (blo) with two decreases. Then I worked some rounds of normal sc with decreases which I didn’t count, sorry for that. To begin with the bottom part I did a round of sc in blo followed by two rounds of sc with some decreases to close the pot after stuffing it.
RAAAWR! Cute crochet dinosaur hat
When there are small children in your family you will always have a reason to crochet funny hats. The »Crochet Dinosaur Hat« by Rachel Mackin is next to Twinkie Chan’s »Chocolate Cupcake Hat with blue Frosting« the one pattern I’ve been using most so far.

Siam cat Amigurumi
I’ve been asked to crochet a little siam cat for the best friend of hubby’s sister. I found a lovely pattern named »Sitting Kitty« that was my base pattern for crochet a siam cat. I just changed the colors and added a pair of beautiful blue cat eyes to get the siam cat look.

Lion Brand Yarn: Two peas in a pod Amigurumi
There is this cute pattern for doing a couple of peas in a pot being bride and bridegroom. Perfect to be part of a wedding gift! I’m usually not a big fan of doing things twice but I’ve already crochet this couple two times. It’s such a fun and quick project!

Futurama: Brain slug Amigurumi
Yeah, Futurama-time! I love this show which has even been the name giver for my black colored male bunny »Nibbler«.
This little cutie looks so uncomplicated and quick to crochet but instead it was driving me mad! So this is going to be my first and last mini version of a brain slug ever! Except it’s taking over me and commands me to do more. o_O#
Pattern source: Futurama’s Brain Slugs by Alicia Ramirez
Material used:
- ONline Linie 107 Supersoft (Amazon link) in light green
- Felt (Amazon link) in black and white
- Fibre fill (Amazon link)
- Textilfix (Amazon link)
- Yarn needle
- 1 brooch needle
To attach the little slug to a nice head I’ve added a pin on the bottom. For taking nice photos of my little brain slug my jellyfish Amigurumi was kind enough to let it have a seat on its head. I suppose it’s forever.
Doctor Who: Adipose Amigurumi
These cute little fellows had their first appearance in »Partners in Crime«, the first episode of the 4th season of Doctor Who (Amazon link) marking Donna Noble’s first time as the new companion of the Doctor.
I really had a hard time doing the hands and feet as there had been several mistakes in the pattern. But seems like Jennifer made a big update and added a photo tutorial for fingers and toes, too. This is very kind as it is a free pattern.
