Meet me on facebook

I recently created a facebook page that is meant to go hand in hand with my blog. As I don’t plan to spam my blog with special discounts, work in progress stories or each little food creation I’m proud of, this all will find a sweet home on facebook instead. It’ll also be a nice location to show your little Yoshi Amigurumi and else you’ve created using my patterns. ♡ So please stop by and give it a »like«: facebook.com/anjizilla

Pattern ideas: Crochet Totoro shawlette anyone?

I’m a bit set on hold caused by illness, meh. That’s why I haven’t crochet anything yet I could show you. But if you can not do what you love to do, nothing can stop you to think about it anyway! I thought about some new pattern projects for the future and instantly fell in love with one idea that I had to catch in a rough sketch as it grow on my mind.

Dr. Almond: Low-carb and gluten free baking

Enjoying bread without any grain flour* meaning it’s gluten free and low-carb, too! All you need is a »Dr. Almond« baking mix of your choice and some water. Yeah okay, you do need a measuring cup, a mixer, a baking tray with backing paper and your oven, too. But still it’s pretty simple!

Crochet Viking helmet hat

My nephew is named Erik and the first thing on my mind is always »Erik, the Viking«. So I simply had to crochet a Viking helmet for him one day. This Christmas has been a good reason to do so. The pattern is lovely as Mamachee is writing great instructions. It’s quickly done and a lot of fun. Hubby wants a Viking helmet, too so I’m looking forward to do another Viking helmet hat in late October.

Cheshire cat pillow sleeve

This has been a pattern test on ravelry I did for Alexandra Trubicyna in September. I decided to make it look like the cheshire cat from »Alice in Wonderland«. I love this modern fairy tale since my early childhood days. It was my first pattern test by the way and I really enjoyed it and it all worked out great!

Lazy waves shawlette in Atelier Zitron

My mom send me a hank of gorgeous hand-dyed Atelier Zitron yarn among some other birthday gifts. It was my first skein winded up using a Nostespinne. I put the adorable shawlette pattern on my queue on ravelry some while ago and I took the chance to use this fingering weight yarn for it. Maybe the waves would have been more noticeable using a softer colored yarn but I love the result anyway!

Penny the Panda Amigurumi

The pattern by Lion Brand Yarn is named »Felted Penny the Panda« and is therefore calling for some pure wool yarn such as Schachenmayr Merino Extrafine (Amazon link). Otherwise you can’t felt it. As I didn’t found any black and white wool skeins in my stash I couldn’t felt my Penny Panda. But it’s cute anyway so I don’t mind.
